President Barack Obama is serious about cost-cutting. A senior administration official who spoke on the condition of anonymity has told the Associated Press that Obama will likely discuss the freeze when he goes in front of Congress Wednesday. The pay freeze applies to the salaries of his top White House aides and other officials within his Cabinet. Last year, Obama also froze salaries of those in the White House making more than $100,000, and denied bonuses to political appointees. The gesture, officials say, is mostly symbolic.
