Obama: 'We've Broken This Slide'

Feels like we’ve been around this “corner” a few times already: “We are beginning to turn the corner,” President Obama said after Friday’s jobs report, which showed the economy adding more jobs in March than it has in any month in the past three years: “We’ve broken the slide.” Despite the 162,000 new jobs, the unemployment rate held steady at 9.7 percent. Also, 48,000 of those jobs are temporary employment for the 2010 Census and will expire in the second half of this year. “We shouldn't underestimate the difficulties we face," Obama said. "We're still going through a hard time."
