Obama Praises Civil-Rights Leader

President Obama praised the work of civil-rights leader Dorothy Height at her funeral on Thursday. "She never cared about who got the credit," he said at the National Cathedral. "What she cared about was the cause. The cause of justice, the cause of equality, the cause of opportunity, freedom's cause." Height, who fought to desegregate the YWCA and led the National Council of Negro Women, had visited the Obama White House 21 times. "She too deserves a place in our history books," Obama said. "She too deserves a place of honor in America's memory."
