Obama: No Decision Yet on Syria

President Obama has not made a decision on whether or not the U.S. will act in Syria, he said Friday, but he vows not to send ground forces. "We're not considering any open-ended commitment," he told reporters at the White House. "We're not considering any boots-on-the-ground approach." The president's comments came after a speech by Secretary of State John Kerry, outlining the evidence the U.S. has that confirms the use of chemical weapons by Bashar al-Assad's regime against its own people, and the obligation the U.S. has to hold him responsible. During a conference call with reporters, senior administration officials said Obama has "received options from the military and also from his broader national-security team about potential courses of action," and that there is a continuing "two-way conversation with Congress."
