Obama: Jobs Vote by October’s End

"It's been several weeks now since I sent up the American Jobs Act,” President Obama told reporters on Monday. “I want it back.” Obama said he expects Congress to vote on his $447 billion jobs package by the end of October. He urged Republicans to tell him what parts of the bill they don’t like and what parts they are willing to support. The most contentious aspect will likely be his recommendation to pay for the bill with higher taxes on the wealthiest Americans, something the GOP opposes.
