Obama Giving Up on No-Fly Zone

A U.N. vote later this week on a no-fly zone over Libya is likely to be too late: Muammar Gaddafi is poised to regain total control of Libya after his forces captured Ajdabiya, the last town before the rebel capital of Benghazi. The New York Times says there is “growing consensus” in the White House that, at this point, a no-fly zone wouldn’t do much to stop Gaddafi anyway. Obama and his advisers discussed alternatives, including jamming Libyan government radio signals and giving the $32 billion seized from Gaddafi to the rebels.
