Obama Approval Rating Hits New High

President Barack Obama’s approval rating has reached a new high for his second term, according to a new CNN/ORC poll released Thursday. The survey—which has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points—puts the president’s approval rating at 55 percent, the highest since his second inauguration. Obama is campaigning aggressively for Hillary Clinton to succeed him as president, and will likely channel his popularity on the campaign trail. “He’s the guy with the enormous influence among young people and African Americans and Hispanics and women who are likely to play an important role in determining the outcome of this race,” spokesman Josh Earnest said at Thursday’s press briefing.
