The New York Times has obtained body-camera footage showing Georgia sheriff's deputies stunning a man repeatedly with Tasers, after which he died. In the November 2015 incident, Chase Sherman was subdued by deputies in the back seat of a car, wearing handcuffs, when he is said to have grabbed one of the officer’s Taser guns. At least two deputies attempted to retrieve the electronic stun device, and another punched Sherman in the head during the struggle. Sherman was eventually pulled out of the car after he stopped breathing. After realizing that Sherman was dead, one of the officers can be heard saying, “Fuck no. We’re fucked dude. We are fucked.” According to his mother, Sherman took synthetic marijuana just days before the incident, during which he experienced a breakdown, bit his girlfriend, and attempted to jump out of the car.
