North Korea Says It Will Suspend Nuclear, Missile Tests

North Korea says it will stop conducting nuclear and long-range missile tests on Saturday, according to state media. In addition, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced that he will shut down a nuclear-test site in the north where six tests were conducted. “From April 21, North Korea will stop nuclear tests and launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles,” the Korean Central News Agency said in a report, according to The Washington Post. The announcement comes ahead of a historic meeting between Kim and President Donald Trump. In less than a week, Kim is set to meet with South Korean president Moon Jae-in.
