Nokia Unveils 'Phablets'

If you think people who take photos with their tablets are annoying, prepare yourself for the phablet, a tablet and a phone all in one. Nokia unveiled the phablet in Abu Dhabi on Monday, an extra-large phone running on the Windows phone system. It’s Nokia’s last major event before it completes the sale of its hardware unit to Microsoft, which agreed to buy the business for $7.6 billion in a deal expected to be completed in early 2014. Microsoft has been trying to crack into the phone business dominated by iOS and Android. The Windows Phone took a 3.3 percent share of smartphone sales in the April-June quarter, with Nokia the most popular brand.
