No Re-Count for Louisiana Census

Louisiana won’t get its congressional seat back, the Supreme Court decided Monday. The Southern state had attempted to recover a seat lost after the 2010 census, which, Lousiana argued, had included illegal immigrants. While other states with large undocumented immigrant populations—California, Florida, and Texas—actually gained seats, Louisiana and others lost them, prompting them to file a lawsuit asking the Supreme Court to order a recalculation of House seats including only legal residents.
