Newt: Virginia Ballot is like Pearl Harbor

Newt Gingrich drew on his vaunted experience as a historian for an analogy to his Virginia ballot debacle: The surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.“Newt and I agreed that the analogy is December 1941,” said campaign director Michael Krull on Facebook. Only Mitt Romney and Ron Paul secured the necessary 10,000 signatures to get on the Virginia ballot. “Throughout the next months there will be ups and downs; there will be successes and failures; there will be easy victories and difficult days—but in the end we will stand victorious,” said Krull.
