Navy Drone Flies With Humans in a First

Can unmanned and manned aircraft get along? The U.S. Navy tested the two together for the first time ever this weekend, flying an experimental drone called "X-47-B" alongside an F/A-18 fighter jet over the Atlantic Ocean. “The X-47B performed multiple arrested landings, catapults, flight deck taxiing and deck refueling operations,” the Navy said. Typical drones are operated by humans thousands of miles away, but the Navy's drone would be almost fully controlled by a computer and is jet-powered rather than propeller-driven.
