The father of Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan died Sunday, after emergency crews found him unresponsive at the skater’s childhood home. Daniel Kerrigan was 70. Mark Kerrigan, the skater’s brother, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on an elder with serious bodily injury. Nancy’s mother told the Boston Herald that the father and son had been fighting over the phone, and Mark grabbed Daniel’s throat. Daniel began to choke, but Mark thought he was faking. His father was having a massive heart attack. The incident happened almost 16 years after the day Nancy was attacked by her rival Tonya Harding.
