British police said Tuesday that they are conducting a murder investigation to find out more about the body found at Sandringham Estate, the queen’s private country house, on New Year’s Day. “We are at the very early stages of the investigation and it could be a complex inquiry,” said Det. Chief Inspector Jes Fry. Authorities said they were performing a postmortem on the body on Tuesday. Fry said the body had been on the nearly 20,000-acre estate for some time. Sandringham, located around 115 miles northeast of London, is where the royal family spends the holidays, and Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were there on New Year’s Day.
