MTV Cancels ‘Buckwild’

MTV has canceled the reality show Buckwild, TMZ reported on Tuesday. The move comes just eight days after star Shain Gandee’s death from carbon monoxide poisoning. The show had been in the middle of production for its second season. Gandee’s death was not the only issue with the show—two cast members have been arrested, Salwa Amin for drug possession and Michael Burford for DUI. The show followed the lives of late teens and early-20-somethings in rural West Virginia. The four episodes of the second season that were taped will not air; instead MTV reportedly will air a special it taped two months ago.
