Michael Brown Jury: 3 Blacks, 9 Whites

The grand jury that will hear evidence in the case of Michael Brown’s death consists of one black man, two black women, six white men, and three white women. The demographics roughly reflect the racial breakdown of St. Louis County’s population (24 percent black, 68 percent white). According to St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert P. McCulloch, the grand jury’s term is likely to extend from its original September end date since the Brown case could last into October. A hearing will be held on Monday morning on a request to release more details about the jurors, including age and hometown or zip code.
