Man Put Needles in Meat Packages

Apparently things you do when bored include placing sewing needles inside packaged meat in a grocery store for 68-year-old Ronald Avers. Avers, a disabled veteran, admitted in court Thursday that he had put the needles in, saying "It was stupidity, I didn't want to hurt nobody." At least one customer was injured and another found a needle in her mouth while eating. At least six other customers reported finding needles to the store. Security footage shows Avers, who hid the needles in his oxygen tank, placing them in packages on seven different occasions.
