Man Goes Missing on Cannibal Island

A German sailor’s trip around the world may have ended in a gruesome tragedy. Stefan Ramin, 40, went missing on a remote island in French Polynesia that has a reputation for cannibalism. Ramin’s girlfriend, who was traveling with him, says he went on a hike with a local goat hunter, Henri Haiti, and never came back. When she told Haiti that she wanted to call the police, he allegedly tied her to a tree and assaulted her. Charred bones, believed to be Ramin’s, were found near a campfire on the island.
