Madonna Rebukes Fan’s Flowers

She did once call herself a material girl, not a flower girl. Madonna was caught in a classic open-mike gaffe at the Venice Film Festival on Tuesday when she said, “I absolutely loathe hydrangeas,” after an adoring fan presented her with the flowers. Madonna smiled when she received the flowers, but then turned to a man sitting next to her, commented on her disgust for the hydrangeas, and put them under the table. Video of the gaffe has turned attention away from her announcement Monday that she will make a new album, set to be released in spring 2012.
