Lin-Manuel Miranda Thanks Trump for Puerto Rico Aid

The creator of Broadway’s Hamilton put aside his beef with Donald Trump on Tuesday and tweeted a message of thanks to the president for making additional disaster assistance available for Puerto Rico, which is in a state of crisis after getting hit with multiple hurricanes over the past few weeks. The night before, Trump tweeted that the island was “already suffering from broken infrastructure & massive debt” before Hurricane Maria made a direct hit. Lin-Manuel Miranda, who has been highly critical of Trump in the past, has been making a personal plea for relief for the American citizens in Puerto Rico, including members of his family, both on social media and in a guest column for The Hollywood Reporter. “Puerto Ricans need supplies and resources just as badly as their fellow Americans in Texas and Florida, and this need is magnified by their geographic isolation from the mainland,” Miranda wrote, urging readers to donate to the Hispanic Federation's Hurricane Relief Fund.
