Libyan Prime Minister Freed

Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zidan has been freed after being kidnapped in a dawn raid on his hotel in Tripoli, a spokesman said Thursday, but gave no further information. Just hours before, Zidan was snatched by gunmen from the hotel where he lives. It appeared that the Libyan government forces intervened in some way after the raid, and that the abductors did not hand Zidan over peacefully. The abduction was apparently retaliation for an American raid that seized a Libyan al Qaeda suspect over the weekend and raised the ire of both the government and some militant groups.
