Ledger’s Last Film

Heath Ledger’s family accepted his posthumous Oscar this weekend, but fans of the late actor know his role in The Dark Knight wasn’t his last on-screen apearance. His sister called footage of Ledger’s last film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus “amazing,” but the eccentric Terry Gilliam-helmed film about a traveling magician has yet to find a distribution deal. Sellers and investors are rumored to be seeking a high price, but the film’s experimental nature and the uneasiness promoting an actor’s last role pose a marketing challenge, although a deal should surface later this year. Jude Law, Colin Farrell, and Johnny Depp took over Ledger’s main role after his death during the middle of production.
