Leak Plugged at Japan Plant

Finally, good news from Fukushima: Workers have finally plugged a devastating leak at the haywire nuclear power plant. The crippled facility, run by Tokyo Electric Power Co., had been leaking radioactive water directly into the Pacific Ocean—at one point spewing at a rate of seven tons per hour. The leaked water, just one of the many crises experienced at the plant since the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, was deemed to pose a small threat to most seawater life, but posed a greater threat to immobile creatures, such as shellfish.
