Latest Search for MH370 Ends With Nothing Found

The latest search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370—which disappeared in March 2014 with 239 people on board—has ended, having shed no light on what happened to the aircraft. The privately funded search by U.S. technology company Ocean Infinity used a deep-sea vessel to survey a vast area of the southern Indian Ocean but found nothing related to the plane. Malaysian government search efforts ended last year and there are no plans to carry on the search. Oliver Plunkett, the head of Ocean Infinity, said: “I would firstly like to extend the thoughts of everyone at Ocean Infinity to the families of those who have lost loved ones on MH370. Part of our motivation for renewing the search was to try to provide some answers to those affected. It is therefore with a heavy heart that we end our current search without having achieved that aim." Plunkett added that he would like to resume the search in the future.
