It doesn’t get much more grisly than this: A new report on European organized crime accuses Kosovo’s prime minister, Hashim Thaci, of smuggling human organs, among other crimes. The report says Thaci’s gang would murder Serbian prisoners and then sell their kidneys on the black market. He’s also accused of asserting “violent control” over the country’s heroin trade. On Sunday, Kosovo held its first elections since declaring independence in 2008. Thaci declared victory and is seeking to build a coalition.
