Kenyan Runner Has Feet Amputated

Kenyan runner Marko Cheseto had both his feet amputated after suffering from frostbite. The 28-year-old from the University of Alaska Anchorage disappeared in a snowstorm on Nov. 6 because of what police called a “personal crisis.” He was found three days later with his shoes frozen to both feet. Doctors cut off both his feet above the ankle last Thursday. Last season, Cheseto did not run because a fellow Kenyan teammate had committed suicide.
