Kaiser Rises in Crisis

Michael Kaiser, the president of the Kennedy Center, has made rescuing arts funding his purpose. Kaiser has traveled the country far and wide to meet with local arts organizations in American towns large and small to hear their concerns over arts funding—and try to see a way out of the gloom. The Washington Post's tally of his itinerary lists 69 cities visited, 83,000 miles traveled, and 11,000 forums held with artists and administrators.
