Judge Tosses Elmo Sex Suits

A judge has thrown out three sex suits against former Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash, who won three Daytime Emmy Awards just last month for his performance as the voice of the beloved Muppet. Clash was exonerated on Monday after a judge said his three male accusers, who claim they suffered psychological damage from having sex with Clash while they were underage, waited too long to sue. The ruling was filed under a statute of limitations that requires legal action within “six years after the cause of action accrues, or three years after the plaintiff turns 21, whichever is longer.” All three suits, which the judge noted were nearly “identical” in language, were filed between eight and 16 years after the men say they had sexual relations with Clash.
