Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) was acquitted Wednesday by a federal judge of some bribery charges against him and co-defendant Salomon Melgen. The judge, William Walls, acquitted Menendez and Melgen of seven of the 18 corruption charges. Last year, their trial ended in a deadlocked jury and a mistrial. The Justice Department said this week that it would re-try the senator. Melgen is an eye doctor and political contributor to Menendez.
