J.Lo to Sign with Def Jam

Jennifer Lopez is close to signing a deal with Def Jam records after splitting with Sony in January, her manager says. It’s a relief for the singer/danger/actor/designer, whose reputation has been rattled this week by an audio clip that went viral this week in which she repeatedly attempts to sing Barbra Streisand's "Enough is Enough" with painfully off-key results, the New York Daily News reports. Her two recent sigles, "Fresh Out of the Oven," and "Louboutins" both flopped. Now, unnamed industry insiders are dropping brutal quotes saying she's "past her prime and her best work is behind her" and that she's "too old to play the cute little dance dolly, and she's not skilled enough as an artist to sing serious ballads."
