Jeff Sessions Has ‘No Reason to Doubt’ Roy Moore’s Accusers
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said on Tuesday that he has “no reason to doubt” the women who have accused Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore of sexual misconduct. Testifying in front of the House Judiciary Committee, Sessions weighed in for the first time on Tuesday on the scandal engulfing the special election for his former Senate seat. Some prominent Republicans have suggested that Sessions should mount a write-in campaign for the seat, but that prospect seems unlikely. Multiple women have come forward in recent days alleging that Moore pursued them sexually when they were teenagers and he was in his 30s. On Monday, another women claimed that Moore tried to rape her when she was 16 years old and he was a 28-year-old district attorney.
