One of the world's leading jazz men died on Saturday. Clark Terry was one of the top trumpeters of his era—he played with the orchestras of both Duke Ellington and Count Basie, and recorded with the likes of Charles Mingus and Thelonious Monk. Terry was a member of The Tonight Show band, the first black musician to land that type of job at NBC. He continued playing at New York nightclubs until 2008. He was 94 at the time of his death.
