With Jaycee Dugard's tormentors finally sentenced, the judge in her case has released a redacted version of Dugard's grand jury testimony, revealing new details about her kidnapping. In 1991, Dugard was walking to a bus stop when Phillip and Nancy Garrido pulled up behind her in a car and used a stun gun to capture her. She later said Mr. Garrido began raping her soon after the kidnapping. Garrido told Dugard that she was “helping him” with a “sex problem.” He said he had kidnapped her “so that he wouldn’t have to do this to anybody else.” Dugard was held in a two-room building in the backyard and she spent most of the first year alone. While being held, Dugard gave birth to two daughters. Dugard and her daughters were finally freed in August 2009, after Garrido confessed.
