Jackass 3D Earns Record Haul

This makes getting slammed in the gut by a raging buffalo almost seem worth it. Jackass 3D, Johnny Knoxville’s third trip to the theaters with his MTV stunt franchise, swamped the competition at the box office, netting $50 million in its first two days on screen—a record take for October. Second place in weekend earnings went to the new spy flick Red, starring Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren, which brought in $22.5 million. Disney’s Secretariat slid to fourth place, and rom-com Life as We Know It tumbled from second place to fifth.
