Ivanka Trump Slams NY ‘Onerous’ Rules

Ivanka Trump blasted New York’s “onerous” voter-registration rules for her missing October’s registration deadline to cast a ballot for her father in the state’s Republican primary next Tuesday. “New York has one of the most onerous rules in terms of registration, and it required us to register a long time ago—almost close to a year ago—and we didn’t do that,” Ivanka Trump told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Tuesday during a town-hall forum. “We found out about it sort of after the fact.” Both Ivanka Trump, who identifies as an independent, and her brother Eric Trump missed the deadline to register to vote in the April 19 primary. “It was our first kind of foray into politics,” Eric Trump said. “We didn’t realize how the whole system worked.”
