Israeli Strikes Kill 8 in Gaza

The day after a 4-year-old Israeli boy was killed by a mortar strike, Israeli strikes killed eight in targets across Gaza (including five from the same family when their home was bombed) on Saturday, bringing the total Palestinian death toll to almost 2,100 over six weeks of fighting. Hamas rockets continued to hit Israel, though most were intercepted or landed harmlessly in open areas. Egypt, meanwhile, has called for a renewed truce after Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi on Saturday.
