Israel Trying to Shut Down Al Jazeera Offices

The Israeli government has vowed to shut down Al Jazeera’s offices in the country, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accusing the network of “incitement.” The Qatari government funds Al Jazeera, and other countries in the region have cut off ties with Qatar amid accusations of support for terrorism. Ayoub Kara, Israel’s communications minister, said cable providers in the country are set to take the network off air, adding that the government needs to do more if it wants to shut down Al Jazeera’s offices in cities such as Jerusalem. Al Jazeera said the Israeli government’s efforts to shut it down are “dangerous.”
