Israel Frees 26 Palestinian Prisoners

Less than a month after Israel vowed to release a group of Palestinian prisoners, 26 inmates were driven to freedom in the West Bank and Gaza. The 26, who were named shortly after midnight on Sunday, are the first of 104 Palestinian and Israeli Arab prisoners who will be released in the next few months. The agreement between Israel and Palestine was made in effort to restart peace talks between the two nations. The plan seems to be working. The two have already begun direct talks—the first to occur in three years.
