ISIS: We Executed 1,700 Iraqi Soldiers

Members of the militant group ISIS posted gruesome photos on Twitter on Sunday night claiming they slaughtered 1,700 Iraqi officials and soldiers. The massacre has not been idependently verified, but would be the most deadly atrocity committed in Iraq or Syria in the past several years, even worse than the chemical attacks that killed 1,400 in Syria last year. ISIS bragged that all of its victims were Shiites, raising concern that the conflict is turning into a genocide. The alarming news came on a day already racked with violence in Iraq, in which ISIS took control of yet another city and the U.S. State Department began evacuating most of its personnel from the American embassy in Baghdad.
