ISIS Truck Bomb Kills 60 in Iraq

ISIS militants claimed responsbility for a truck bomb at an Iraqi checkpoint that killed at least 60 people and injured more than 70 others Sunday. The suicide attack took place in Hilla, about 73 miles south of Baghdad. ISIS claimed the attack to the Amaz news agency website. “A martyr’s operation with a truck bomb hit the Babylon Ruins checkpoint at the entrance of the city of Hilla, killing and wounding dozens,” the statement said, according to Reuters. The blast is the second deadliest attack this year after the Feb. 28 explosion that killed 78 people in Sadr City, a Shiite district of Baghdad.
