ISIS Claims Ohio State University Attack

The Somali refugee who carried out an attack at Ohio State University on Monday was a soldier of the Islamic State, according to the terrorist group’s semi-official news agency. Abdul Razak Ali Artan drove a car into a group of people and then began cutting them with a knife before being shot and killed by a responding police officer. The attack came just a two days after ISIS released a video urging supporters to carry out low-tech knife attacks. The Amaq Agency, which often publicizes ISIS’s claims of responsibility for attacks, claimed Artan in a message posted on the encrypted messaging app Telegram on Tuesday. It said Artan’s attack was in response to the group's call to target countries belonging to the anti-ISIS coalition. Amaq’s claims of responsibility are usually attributed to insider sources and are generally considered reliable.
