Irma Hits Florida and Georgia as a Tropical Storm

Irma has weakened from a hurricane to tropical storm, as it treks northward into the United States through Florida. According to CNN, rain is still slamming northeast Florida accompanied by 70 mph winds. At least 150 people in Florida required emergency rescue Monday morning after getting caught in the onslaught. About 5.8 million customers remain without power across the state, and FEMA chief Brock Long said some places won't have electricity for weeks.
