Iraqi Kurds: ISIS Using Chemical Weapons

Iraq’s Kurdistan Region Security Council says it has evidence that the Islamic State has started using chlorine gas as a chemical weapon. The allegation comes from a January suicide truck bomb attack in northern Iraq; Iraqi officials and Kurds in Syria have also reported low-grade chemical weapons being used against them. Peshmerga forces discovered “around 20 gas canisters” inside the truck after the January attack. The gas induced “dizziness, nausea, vomiting and general weakness” in the peshmerga fighters, according to the Council.
