Iraq: ISIS Leader Not in Targeted Convoy

ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was likely not in a convoy hit by airstrikes Sunday, Iraqi officials have admitted. The government of Iraq had claimed its forces successfully hit Baghdadi’s convoy. Then, they said he had been whisked away in a car after the strike, and blurry photos circulating online purported to show an injured Baghdadi. The officials now concede that he was probably not there at all, and the group was led by Abu Saad al-Karbouli, a senior policeman.
