According to the spokesman for Iraq’s human rights ministry, ISIS militants have taken hundreds of women captive. The women, from the Yazidi religious minority, are all below the age of 35 and some of them are being held in schools in Mosul, according spokesman Kamil Amin. He says the ministry learned of the women’s situation from the captives’ families. 40,000 Yazidis fled into the mountains above Sinjar, a town near the Syrian border. The U.S. carried out a cargo drop on Thursday night delivering food and supplies to the people trapped on the mountain. On Friday, U.S. warplanes struck ISIS positions near Erbil, Iraq at least twice.
