Iran Parliament Approves New Funds for Missile Program

The Iranian Parliament approved new funds on Sunday for the country’s missile program and its Revolutionary Guards, in response to new U.S. sanctions. Some lawmakers chanted, “death to America” as the bill was passed, according to state media. The U.S. Congress overwhelmingly passed legislation that slaps new sanctions on Iran, Russia and North Korea, and President Trump signed it despite his reservations. Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said the new legislation passed by the Iranian Parliament does not violate the terms of the nuclear agreement that was reached with the U.S. and other major powers in 2015.
