Iran: Let’s Talk Nukes

Given what’s happening, this is a good problem to have. Iran claims that it is ready to talk nukes with the world powers—though the U.S. and European Union claim this is false. Iran’s foreign minister said that Tehran would like to start talks with the P5+1 group in Turkey, as the EU looks to ban oil imports from the nation by July 1. White House spokesman Jay Carney said that Iran has yet to respond to a letter requesting that talks begin. Meanwhile, an Iranian parliament member said that Obama sent a letter of warning about blocking the Strait of Hormuz and proposing talks—the White House has denied this too.
