Iran: EU Will Not Force Nuke Talks

The tough new European Union sanctions against Iran will not force Tehran into talks over its nuclear program, Iran’s foreign minister said on Monday. “We think the error in calculation which these countries are pursuing will distance them from a favorable result,” said Iran’s ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast. On Monday, the EU announced tougher sanctions against Iran, including prohibiting “all transactions” between Iranian and European banks. Meanwhile, British Prime Minister David Cameron said that while he would not tolerate a “nuclear-armed Iran,” he urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that “now is not the time for Israel to resort to military action.”
