Intel Dem: Nunes Apologized for Not Telling Committee Before Going to Trump

Rep. Jackie Speier, a Democratic congresswoman who sits on the powerful House Intelligence Committee, said Thursday that the committee’s chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes, apologized to his committee colleagues for revealing to the press that President Donald Trump’s team was “incidentally” surveilled, without first consulting with them. Nunes was criticized by his Democratic counterparts for how he handled the revelation, and his decision to brief Trump at the White House. Speier told reporters Nunes “knows full well” that there are questions about his “objectivity” given his closeness to Trump. In a later interview on CNN, Speier said Nunes apologized “in a generic way.”
